Nestled into a beautiful and steep valley is the secluded cottage of Millook Water. Only 8 miles north of Boscastle in North Cornwall, this family run cottage is surrounded by ancient woodlands, a fresh-water stream and the spectacular, rugged Cornish coast with its sandy beaches and wild surf. It is a treasured possession which has been in our family since 1957.
A stay at our rustic cottage provides a wonderful experience of the Cornish countryside and coast. This idyllic setting offers tranquillity where the only noises to be heard are birdsong and the gentle sounds of distant crashing waves.
It really is the perfect place for a family holiday or romantic getaway.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome at Millook Water, if not essential! The cottage is an excellent place to go on coastal walks, swim in the sea and embark on lengthy hikes so we encourage you to bring your four legged friends along. We make a small cleaning charge for accidents and dog hair.
Parking and Accessibility
There is space for two cars – almost threee – to park at the cottage, but please, there is no public parking in the valley. Rest assured the beach and coastal path are only a few minutes’ walk away.
It is impossible for long vehicles, caravans or motorhomes to get round the 1:3 hairpin bend into the valley. This is one of the reasons that the valley is so peaceful.
The track up to the house is unadopted, so don’t bring a low-slung sports car!
Connectivity
At the cottage we have resisted wifi in order to help people switch off from the stress of daily life. Just relax in the peace and tranquillity of the setting. Have a look at our detox page!
Given the rural setting, phone signal is limited, but the cottage has a landline which accepts incoming calls and allows outgoing calls. There is signal if you totter down to the sea.
Laundry
We provide a laundry service with towels and all bed linen, so no need to bring any. We provide a full cleaning service but do, however, ask our guests to leave the cottage in a reasonable condition. Please, however, bring your own beach and dog towels .
When you book, you will need to let us know how many people you will be bringing, so that we know how many beds to make up.
We comply with government guidelines: pillow protectors and mattress protectors are freshly laundered for each visitor.
